Best mum’s n bubs exercise classes in Darebin

As a mother myself I know how hard it is to find time for exercise while caring for our little ones. However, staying active and connecting with other mums is essential for physical and mental well-being. Fortunately, Darebin offers a range of mum’s n bubs friendly exercise classes that allow you to prioritise your fitness goals while bonding with your babies. I researched this extensively when I was on mat-leave so I thought I’d share some of my favourites.

I’m not affiliated in any way with these businesses, I just genuinely love what they offer and want to share them with you!

Arise Studio Health, Preston and new location in Coburg

Arise is my absolute favourite as it focuses on inclusivity and creating a supportive, welcoming environment. Their pre & post-natal classes run by Jodi are the best. The classes are pregnancy friendly and if you’re post-natal baby can lie on a mat beside your reformer, while you get to stretch and move and strengthen your body. These classes incorporate awareness of the pelvic floor into almost all of the exercises, which if you’re pregnant or have had children you’ll know is so, so needed. The classes are gentle, but still feel like you’ve done a workout. Each class finishes with a meditation (my favourite part) where you can have a moment to yourself, or place baby on your chest for a snuggle.

23W, Preston

23W is a women’s only gym that empowers women to thrive. They offer a range of group fitness classes including boxing, strength and conditioning training, pilates, yoga as well as personal training sessions. The best thing about 23W is that they have an onsite nanny that watches your children while you work out. They also offer a MOM membership which is designed for new mum’s, with coaches specially trained in postpartum exercise to offer appropriate support.

Ergo Yoga Space, Coburg

Ergo Yoga with Simone Litchfield is designed to meet the needs of your post-natal body with gentle movement, gradually rebuilding strength and releasing tension in the neck, shoulders and back. Simone finds ways to include your baby in many of the different poses, so it’s a lovely activity to do together. The classes are quite small and intimate which for me was exactly what I needed as I emerged from my newborn bubble and eased myself back into exercise. Each class ends with a chai and a chat, which is a great way to meet other like-minded mothers and for your little ones to engage with other children.
